October soon, 2012: This American Life NPR Interview

Between September and October 2012, we were interviewed on several occasions by Lisa Pollak–a producer at NPR’s This American Life (http://www.thisamericanlife.org/).

This American Life is a weekly hour-long radio program produced by Chicago Public Media, hosted by Ira Glass and distributed by Public Radio International on PRI affiliate stations.  The program is broadcast on more than 500 stations to about 1.8 million listeners–and has won all of the major broadcasting awards. It is also often the most popular podcast in the country, with around 700,000 people downloading each week.

Lisa is doing a story on friendships that have been lost during the election season.  In addition to interviewing each of us separately, she drove up to Potsdam to record the Living Room Conversation that we hosted–and then interviewed us together at the local public radio station.  We had a chance to talk with several other people on the radio, who were having struggles in their own family and friend relationships because of partisan differences.

The program should air sometime in the next three weeks–sometime before the election.

We’re honored and thrilled to offer our own experiences and insights, in this important story Lisa’s doing.
